Exposition "Regard vers l'infini"

From Saturday, May 3 to Saturday, June 28: CHAOURCE - Exhibition "Looking towards infinity" by Claude Cressly. At the Tourist Information Office, open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. (closed Thursday afternoon). Claude Cressly talks to us about his art and his journey. His work, turned towards the infinity of the skies, gives us a glimpse of the immensity and the whimsical and cloudy richness of our horizons. "Long responsible in the artistic field by the organization of the annual exhibition of the Cultural May in Arthonnay, (president and curator from 2008 to 2024), I previously followed several training courses: from 2006 to 2020 at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Troyes (internships with Philippe Desmond, Stéphanie Lesne and Pascale Morel) then in private workshops (painting workshop of Béatrice Witdouck and Agate, drawing workshop of Jérôme Sterbeck). From 2006 until today I have followed courses at the Artistic Society of Saint-André-les-Vergers, painting and watercolor workshop. I have exhibited a lot since 2025, not to mention everything at the exhibitions of Saint Benoît art and village, at the ABI space in Joigny, at the giant exhibition of Fouchères, at the ARPA in Aix en Othe, at the city of painters in Mesnil St Père... Meeting Philippe Mottron, a cloud painter from Yonne, was a shock for me. His "hypnotic" skies took me on journeys from which it was hard to return. My tendency to daydream did the rest; more than ever, I had "my head in the clouds" and the desire to paint them. Painting for me is, above all, a moment of escape, of calm, of reverie, an inner journey. Painting the earth, but above all, painting the sky, an immensity in perpetual mutation."
