Join this guided walk organised by the ArTho association. Your guide, Daniel ROTA, will take you on a clay trail and tell you all about the secrets of Vendeuvre's ceramics industry.
From Antiquity to the 20th century, Vendeuvre-sur-Barse was witness to this unique know-how. During this walk, you'll have the chance to discover places that are emblematic of the town's history: from the old Sainterie premises, of course, to the place where the remains of a Gallo-Roman potter's kiln were discovered, not forgetting the sites of the Poterie de Champagne or the Doré tile works, the Baron Pavée de Vendeuvre earthenware factory and Philippe Remmy's ‘gresterie’...
A 4.5km walk full of history and anecdotes, followed by a visit to the current exhibition in the church: ‘La statuaire de Vendeuvre, un paradis retrouvé’!
Meet at the church car park.
Please note that this walk will be cancelled if the outside temperature exceeds 30°C, for everyone's comfort. However, it is still possible to complete the tour independently, thanks to the explanatory booklet available at the church exhibition reception desk.
