Christine Elias - Gravures Artistiques

From November 7th to January 6th: AIX-EN-OTHE - Exhibition of artistic engravings by Christine Elias. Artistic engraving is writing or drawing on a plate (wood, lino, plexiglass, copper, etc.), digging, tracing furrows, pricking, scratching with tools or making acid bites, to create an image, then inking this plate called matrix and printing it on paper. The PRINT is the image obtained when the press prints the inked matrix on paper. Having been based in the Pays d'Othe for 4 years, I organize engraving workshops at the MJC in Aix-en-Othe. For more than 30 years, I have been discovering the techniques of artistic engraving in the workshops of the Paris region. This graphic art gives me the opportunity to multiply the techniques and make different prints. It is always a surprise when I arrive at the printing of my final prints. Each print is an emotion and gives me the pleasure of creation. I like to play with the colors and materials that my different plates give me.
