From Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, September 21: ERVY-LE-CHATEL - Discover the stained-glass house, a former 19th-century prison, European Heritage Days. From 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Armance Stained-Glass House is housed in the building of the former prison of Ervy-le-Châtel. Built in 1835, it was used until the end of the Second World War. Fully restored, the building invites you to discover its preserved prison architecture. The prison was composed of twelve vaulted cells spread between the ground floor and the upper floor. Transformed into a stained-glass museum, it showcases the ancient and contemporary stained-glass windows of Ervy-le-Châtel. Your visit will also be an opportunity to discover the glass slab exhibition, as well as, right next door, the circular hall hosting the sculpture exhibition by Sylvie Storme. The Maison du Vitrail d'Armance evokes and showcases the local glass heritage. In conjunction with the Cité du Vitrail in Troyes, this site brings historical, artistic, and cultural renown to the area. The Maison du Vitrail is housed in the former prison of Ervy-le-Châtel. Built in 1835, it was used until the end of the Second World War. It provides an insight into the stages of creation and restoration of the stained-glass windows, as well as the symbolism and history of those in the Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church.
