Troyes
The rue Linard Gonthier is named after a famous Trojan glass painter (1566-1641) who was a specialist in grisaille and miniatures on glass (stained-glass windows in the Cathedral, in the church of St Martin ès Vignes).
This street is one of the most picturesque and characteristic of the city of Troyes and houses, among others, two charming hotels (La Maison de Rhodes and Le Champ des Oiseaux), two perfectly successful examples of the restoration of the 15th and 16th century heritage.
