Le rendez-vous de l'archéo au Musée Camille Claudel à Nogent-sur-Seine

Wednesday, October 8 at 6 p.m. This conference will discuss the discoveries made during the archaeological excavations on the site of the future gendarmerie, which took place from March to June 2025. Antoine Roland, operations manager for the site, will reveal to the people of Nogent some of the 200 remains unearthed. They bear witness to the evolution of the landscapes and human occupation east of Nogent-sur-Seine, over nearly 13,000 years. Organized for the Fête de la Science, this event is an opportunity to go back in time to the Nogentais of yesteryear, to encounter exceptional remains and discoveries. Among them, and an extraordinary event in Champagne, the discovery of prehistoric tool creation areas in an almost intact state of preservation... We can almost see the craftsman's feet outlined among the debris. Another major discovery: the route of the ancient Troyes-Paris road. Many other surprises await you!
