The Resistance Museum at Mussy-sur-Seine traces the history, of the Maquis Mussy-Grancey also known as the Maquis Montcalm.
Unique in the department of Aube and the Grand-Est region, it is the only institution labelled Museum of France on the Resistance, giving it the support of the Ministry of Culture, within a network of museums dedicated to the resistance at a national level.
The collections, made up of the resisters and their families, belong to the scientific, technical and historical heritage.
The old museum featured, among other things, the reconstitution of an Aube maquis, the evocation of political deportation or even the “pro” and “anti” resistance propaganda.
The rehabilitation of the Resistance Museum is now underway, in order to meet the requirements related to its administrative and historical status it will: give new life to the collections through their restoration, renew their presentation within a museography adapted to a broader outlook and allow a bridge between past and future generations.
