Join us on Friday 26 January 2024 from 6pm for the opening of Pepo Salazar Lacruz's exhibition, Bag of Bags.

Pepo Salazar Lacruz is a Basque artist, living and working in Paris since 2013.

His work has been widely shown over the last 2 decades, notably at the MOMENTUM 10 Biennial, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the MACBA Museum, the Palais de Tokyo , the Ricard Foundation, the CA2M Museum, and La Casa Encendida. In 2015, he represented Spain alongside Francesc Ruiz and Cabello / Carceller, curated by Marti Manem, at the 56th Venice Biennale.

His work is represented by Sabot Gallery, in Cluj (Romania).

Her artistic practice embraces a wide range of media, from sculptural assemblage to artist's film, from writing novels and sound pieces to performance, collage and album composition.

His work, close to the Fluxus movement, oscillates between the absurdity of a capitalist world pushed to its limits and a humour intrinsic to the works.

At Passages, the artist is presenting some fifteen new productions, made for the space of the art centre and which could be described as assemblages of everyday objects, most of them the result of imposed protocols.

Close to the thinking of Deleuze and Guattari, and sensitive to the theories of linguistics, philosophy, economics and ecology, Pepo Salazar Lacruz seizes and hijacks objects representative of the excesses of consumer society (materials or significant objects).

The exhibition reveals a polysemy of forms, as pleasurable as it is full of paradoxes.
