Pays d'Othe Circuit 64.6 km mountain bike trail, blue level – difficult – circuit no. 55 Departure and parking: Bérulle, church square Direction of the markings: towards Chapelle Saint Reine Things to discover along the way: Chapelle Sainte Reine: Before the storm of December 26, 1999, it was located in a magnificent setting of ancient oak trees. This site, registered by decree of September 5, 1936, was once a major pilgrimage site. Near the chapel, which has remained intact, you can still see the location of the miraculous spring, which has now dried up. In the past, the elderly, the sick, and especially the infirm, flocked there. This pilgrimage began at daybreak, with huts set up along the path leading to the chapel; food and drink were served there, and in the evening, dances were improvised. Aix-en-Othe: the 16th century Notre Dame Church, the 12th century St Avit Chapel (exterior only), the Baltard-style covered market which houses the Wednesday and Saturday morning market. Surançon: wash house Maraye-en-Othe: St Jacques-le-Majeur Church, it is an imitation of that of St Philippe de Roule in Paris. Its plans were drawn up in 1712 and its construction took place between 1779 and 1783. This moment has the particularity of not being oriented. Indeed the main door faces East. Les Chevreaux: picnic area Les Quincarlets: viewpoint over the Bérulle valley It is strongly advised not to use the trails during hunting season.
