Are you familiar with the craftsmanship surrounding terracotta? It's an age-old tradition whose merits are celebrated in Champagne! Come and discover this unique world during a lively weekend at the Royer Tile and Pottery Works, as part of the European Artistic Crafts Days. The program includes: - A welcome for visitors followed by a guided tour of the tile works and pottery, during which visitors will learn about the formation of clay on our planet and everything encompassed by the term "ceramics." - Explanations of the different stages of production at the tile works and then at the pottery. - Pottery wheel demonstrations and the opportunity for interested individuals to try it themselves. - An explanation of the rich heritage linked to clay in the Aube region. - Demonstrations of stamping in antique molds with the Artho association. - Exhibition of medieval tiles and antique models, including antique ridge tiles, created by the Identité Terre association at the Royer tileworks. - Guided tour of the Saint-Laurent Church in the village.
