Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20: RIGNY-LE-FERRON - European Heritage Days: self-guided tour of the Church of Saint-Martin. This church in Rigny-le-Ferron was likely rebuilt on the remains of an older building dating back to the 12th century. The chapels at the western ends are enclosed by beautiful Renaissance-style woodwork. The church houses several statues, including Saint Fiacre, dating from the 16th century, and Saint Syre, depicted in pilgrim's garb. This statue is a true masterpiece of the Troyes school. Magnificent stained-glass windows draw our attention, such as the window of the Life of Saint Martin depicting his birth and presentation to Constantine; the window of Our Lady of Boulogne with the Virgin Mary sailing towards Boulogne and the crowd awaiting the miracle; the window of the Assumption of the Virgin; the window of Mary Magdalene; the stained-glass window of the Passion; the stained-glass window of the Tree of Jesse; and the stained-glass window of the Descent from the Cross. You will also notice a magnificent Pietà dating from the 16th century. Contact: +33 (0)3 25 46 69 38
