Le parc des Fontaines |
The Parc des Fontaines is a natural heritage site and a place of relaxation steeped in history. Its history is believed to date back to the Gallo-Roman period (3rd century), when a thermal spa was supposedly built, fed by the springs of the Douée and Échevêtre rivers. Over the centuries, the site was redesigned, notably at the end of the 19th century, to become the English-style park we know today. The park thus preserves the memory of its ancient connection to water and well-being. Now owned by the municipality, the park is open to the public year-round and offers a peaceful setting, crisscrossed by small streams and sluices. It is an ideal place for a nature break, a picnic, or a leisurely stroll. It also hosts events during the summer season. The Parc des Fontaines is included in the Aix-en-Othe discovery trail, which highlights the town's historical and architectural treasures.
