Militaire Association Troyenne |
The Militaire Association Troyenne, familiarly known as MAT, is an association under the French law of 1901, created in 1986 by its founding president Bruno TABARE, which works to preserve technical military heritage and holds an important collection of French armored vehicles and machines: some 65 vehicles, including 44 armored vehicles. The special feature of this collection is that virtually all the vehicles are in perfect working order.
The association, in close partnership with the town of TROYES, takes part in various events organized by the latter. Our collection is also open to the public, and meets with keen interest from all generations.
Coincidence or destiny, the association's premises (originally a sawmill) were requisitioned during the First World War to house the 44th Section du Parc Automobile, responsible for maintaining and repairing French army vehicles.
The voluntary exhibition hall can be visited by prior appointment by calling 06 83 39 34 88.
